Timothy D. Burdick - Visual Journalist
Timothy D. Burdick is a visual journalist currently living in Ventura, Calif. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in South Texas, Florida, Saudi Arabia, Austria. Burdick has been influenced by his numerous travels around the world as a student, captain of a sailing catamaran, relief worker, and journalist.
Visual journalism has evolved from photojournalism and videography. Much of Burdick's work is still photography but just as important is video.
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Burdick made two trips to the Mississippi Gulf coast to give aid with KIRF (Kirwin International Relief Foundation) and to make a documentary on the current condition of Mississippi after Katrina. His film 'Mississippi Forgotten' gives residents of Mississippi a chance to speak out
Busy with school at the Brooks Institute of Photography in Ventura, Calif., Timothy will be updating the website regularly.
